Frequently asked questions

In a counseling session, you will typically talk with a mental health professional about your concerns, challenges, and goals. The therapist may provide guidance, support, and feedback, and may suggest coping strategies or other techniques to help you improve your mental health and well-being.

The length of counseling varies depending on the individual and the nature of the concerns being addressed. Some people may only need a few sessions to work through a particular issue, while others may benefit from ongoing counseling over a longer period of time. 

We generally suggest 6 x 5o min sessions to allow our work to evolve. After that, it is easier for you to make an informed decision about whether or not you wish to continue your counselling.  If you continue beyond the first six sessions the period over which we work becomes open-ended until we end by agreement.

 

Yes, counseling sessions are typically confidential, meaning that what you discuss with your therapist will not be shared with others without your permission, except in cases where there is a legal or ethical obligation to do so (such as if the therapist believes that you or someone else is at risk of harm).

Costs can vary depending on the nature of the session (1:1, Group or Video Call / Telephone) and the number of sessions you may feel you need. See our pricing section for more details information.

Sessions can be held in a number of locations,  generally, they are held in comfortable therapy rooms around the Surrey area.  We have access to multiple locations (not all are listed on our website) and we work with clients to find the best location that will work for everyone. 

Currently, we work from Kingston, Surbiton, Ewell, & Epsom.

 

Absolutely! As an independent therapist practice, we adapt to your needs. While we don't own the venues we use, we ensure flexibility in finding spaces with suitable access arrangements. During onboarding, share your requirements in the client intake form, we will also discuss this in more detail in the free assessment call. After confirming our partnership, we'll allocate a location that meets your access needs."

In the initial assessment call we will discuss how you would like to pay, ideally sessions are paid for in advance or on the day of appointment.

We have various options and payments can be made by credit/debit card via our online systems, bank transfer or cash, we can even send you an SMS link to make online payments if you prefer.

our appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you arrive late, the session will still conclude at the scheduled time. For instance, a 30-minute delay means you'll have a 20-minute session.

Cancellation with at least 48 hours' notice incurs no charge; otherwise, the full appointment fee is usually applicable. In exceptional cases, fees may be reduced to cover room hire and travel expenses, subject to the therapist's discretion.

The initial assessment call helps us get to know you better, talk about what's on your mind, and understand what you hope to achieve through counselling. To save time during the call, we'll send you a brief questionnaire in advance to cover the basics.

During the assessment call, you can ask questions, let us know your preferences, and ensure you're at ease with your chosen counsellor. Your well-being is our top concern, and this assessment call is an important part of delivering support that is effective and tailored just for you.
